CNC Turner (Programmer/Setter/Operator)

The Company

Your Recruitment Coach is working in partnership with a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Dunstable. Due to continued growth and increased customer demand, they are looking to add an experienced CNC Turner to their skilled manufacturing team.

The Role

As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for programming (offline using CAD/CAM), setting, and operating CNC turning machinery to produce high-quality precision components. You'll play a key role in ensuring products meet customer specifications while maintaining quality standards and achieving production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Program CNC turning machines offline using CAD/CAM software.

• Set and operate CNC turning machinery.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

• Produce components to the highest quality standards.

• Ensure internal production milestones and customer delivery dates are consistently met.

• Identify and resolve machining issues to minimise downtime.

• Work closely with the production team to improve efficiency and maintain workflow.

• Maintain a safe, organised, and clean working environment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Extensive experience programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machinery.

• Strong CAD/CAM programming experience (essential).

• The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• A proactive, forward-thinking approach to your work.

• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Experience using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) would be advantageous but is not essential.
