Job Description:

Location: London
Salary: £60,000–£70,000
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

An established UK construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Engineer to join its London team, working across high-value construction projects.

This is a site-focused role suited to an Engineer with strong technical and setting-out experience who is comfortable taking responsibility for quality, coordination and the day-to-day engineering requirements of major projects.

Working as part of the project delivery team, you will be responsible for:

• Setting out and maintaining accurate dimensional control across the works

• Providing technical support to site and production teams

• Supervising and coordinating subcontractors and directly employed labour

• Managing and coordinating subcontract packages

• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and required quality standards

• Producing RAMS and reviewing subcontractor RAMS

• Producing and implementing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)

• Managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and maintaining accurate records

• Supporting temporary works, permits and site inspection procedures

• Developing short-term look-ahead programmes with the supply chain

• Monitoring progress against programme and highlighting potential risks

• Chairing subcontractor progress meetings

• Maintaining accurate site records for labour, plant and materials

• Working closely with Project Management, Commercial and Quantity Surveying teams

• Ensuring site activities comply with SHEQ requirements

To be considered, you should have:

• Degree, HND or equivalent construction/engineering qualification

• Strong previous experience in a similar site-based engineering role

• Demonstrable setting-out experience on large-scale construction projects

• Experience working within a main contractor or comparable project environment

• Good technical understanding of drawings and specifications

• SMSTS

• Valid UK driving licence

• Good IT skills

Experience working on large concrete structures, including slipform or jumpform, would be particularly advantageous.

First Aid training and experience using Fieldview and/or 4P Viewpoint would also be beneficial.
