Engineer

Fitzwilliam and Thorpe Wood Hospitals, Peterborough and Boston West Hospital, Boston

Salary - Depending on experience + fantastic benefits

Full-time (37.5 hours) and Part Time available.

Out of hours on-call required 1 in every 3 weeks.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineer who enjoys working across multiple sites and disciplines to help make a tangible impact on a major healthcare development in the region.

What you'll do

• Ensure legal compliance through planned preventative maintenance and reactive works across site

• The provision of Engineering Maintenance and breakdown support to the hospital 

• Provide competent Technical, Health, Safety and Environmental support & assistance

• Escalate and manage reactive calls that require specialist attention, coordinating with external contractors to resolve more complex issues.

• Ensure site safety and operational efficiency by adhering to Health & Safety regulations and proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks. Effectively manage the permit to work system to oversee high-risk activities on site.

• Support compulsory audits and assessments such as Legionella, Fire Safety, and Health & Safety compliance.

• Review fault logs and allocate appropriate resources to each task within area of responsibility

What you'll bring with you

• City & Guilds Part 3, HNC, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 

• Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills

• Understanding of Legionella prevention requirements within hospital buildings

• Demonstrated high level of organisation & time management skills, particularly in an environment with multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities

• Sound fault finding techniques

• AP / MGPS Medical Gases

• AP / D Decontamination

• IOSH Health and Safety / Risk Assessment training

• L8 / ACOP Legionella training

• Understanding of air handling units
