Business Development Executive / Insurance Sales Executive
Location: Peterborough (Office-Based Only)
Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time 8.15am -5.15pm
Our client is a well-established specialist insurance provider with a strong reputation for delivering tailored insurance solutions to individuals, families, professionals, and businesses across the UK and internationally.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a proactive and commercially focused Business Development Executive to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with insurance experience, or experience within a highly regulated industry, who enjoys building relationships, converting leads, and driving business growth.
Please note: This is a fully office-based position and does not offer remote or hybrid working.
The Role
Working as part of a busy and supportive team, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, converting warm leads, supporting broker relationships, and providing outstanding customer service to existing clients.
Key responsibilities include:
Converting warm inbound enquiries into new business opportunities.
Proactively generating new business through brokers, introducers, affiliates, and direct channels.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, brokers, and intermediaries.
Identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services.
Supporting existing customers with their insurance requirements and renewals.
Preparing quotations, renewal terms, and policy documentation accurately and efficiently.
Managing appointments and meetings with prospective and existing business partners.
Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems.
Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
Representing the business at networking events and industry conferences when required.
Ensuring full compliance with FCA regulations and internal procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience within the insurance industry or a highly regulated sector such as financial services, banking, legal services, healthcare, or similar.
Strong sales, business development, or account management experience.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Confidence handling both inbound and outbound calls.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A proactive and target-driven approach.
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
Good understanding of regulatory compliance and customer service standards.
