Internal Sales Executive

Worcester | £30,000–£35,000 | Permanent

The Company

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Internal Sales Executive to join an established engineering business in Worcester. This role is ideal for a commercially minded individual looking to develop their career in sales, business development and customer engagement within a technical environment.

Working closely with the wider commercial team, you will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, generating qualified leads and supporting the sales team in driving business growth.

The Role

As an Internal Sales Executive, you will be responsible for proactively identifying potential customers, qualifying sales opportunities and maintaining an accurate sales pipeline. You will work alongside Sales Managers, Product Management and Marketing to support business development activities and build strong relationships with prospective and existing customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Research potential customers, projects and new business opportunities across target markets.
• Generate qualified sales leads through proactive outbound calls, emails and prospecting campaigns.
• Qualify incoming enquiries, understand customer requirements and identify commercial opportunities.
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales opportunities and pipeline information within the CRM system.
• Provide market and competitor research to support sales planning and business development.
• Support the external sales team with customer enquiries, quotations and commercial proposals.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and prospects, delivering a professional and responsive service.
• Work closely with Marketing to support campaigns, exhibitions, conferences and lead generation initiatives.
• Monitor sales activity, follow up outstanding opportunities and contribute to pipeline reporting and forecasting.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be proactive, organised and commercially aware, with strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with customers over the telephone and via email.

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Engineering or a similar discipline.
• 2–5 years' experience within an engineering, sales or marketing environment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within a commercial team.
• A positive attitude, resilience and a genuine desire to develop new business opportunities.

Desirable experience:

• Knowledge of technical products, engineering solutions or industrial equipment.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics.
• Exposure to oil and gas, automotive, fluid systems or bespoke equipment manufacturing.
• Experience supporting international sales, market research or lead generation activities.

Salary & Benefits

• £30,000–£35,000 per annum.
• 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
