Maintenance Engineer

Grantham

Salary: Up to £44,000 Dependant on Experience + Great Benefits

Hours: Monday to Friday – Alternating Earlies (06:00 – 14:00) and Lates (14:00 – 22:00)

Alexander Steele are delighted to be working with a hugely successful food manufacturing business who are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-invested manufacturing operation where engineering plays a key role in driving site performance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement. Alongside reactive and planned maintenance, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to capital projects, equipment installations, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Support equipment upgrades, installations, and capital investment projects.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurring issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records through the CMMS system.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to maximise site performance.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, quality, and hygiene standards.

Requirements

• Apprentice-trained Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electrician, or equivalent manufacturing engineering experience.
• Multi-skilled engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience of both PPM and breakdown maintenance.
• Good awareness of health and safety requirements.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills.
• Flexible approach to supporting operational demands.
