Mechanical Contracts Manager
Central London - Growing Specialist MEP Contractor
£75,000.00 - £85,000.00 + Package
We are working with a well-established, growing MEP contractor (c.£6M turnover) to appoint a Mechanical Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects across Central London.
This is a key hire for the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of 3–4 live projects at any one time, spanning commercial, heritage, and public sector schemes.
The company operates within a strong group structure and has built a reputation for delivering technically focused mechanical packages across a diverse project portfolio.
The Role
You will take full responsibility for the delivery of mechanical packages from pre-construction through to completion, managing both the technical and commercial aspects of multiple projects.
Working closely with Directors and site teams, you will play a central role in driving programme, quality, and client satisfaction across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing 3–4 mechanical projects concurrently from pre-construction to handover
- Leading procurement of subcontractors, plant, and equipment
- Producing and managing project programmes, aligned with main contractor schedules
- Overseeing technical submissions, RFIs, and design coordination
- Managing variations, cost control, and commercial reporting
- Producing and managing Applications for Payment and final accounts
- Supporting site teams with technical and operational guidance
- Overseeing commissioning, O&M manuals, and project close-out
- Ensuring full compliance with HSEQ and regulatory standards
The Candidate
We are looking for a well-rounded Mechanical Contracts Manager who is comfortable managing multiple projects and operating in a hands-on environment.
You will demonstrate:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts / Project Manager within building services
- Strong technical knowledge across:
- HVAC / Air Conditioning
- Pipework & Plumbing
- Ventilation systems
- Experience delivering commercial or heritage projects
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong commercial awareness, including variations and applications
- Experience liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
- Proactive, organised, and capable of working with autonomy
Qualifications:
- HNC / equivalent in Building Services (or similar)
- SMSTS
- CSCS (Black Card)
