The role & about the client:

ITS Construction Professionals South are working with a business delivering projects across the water and wastewater sector, who are looking to appoint experienced MEICA Project Engineers to support the successful delivery of mechanical, electrical and civil engineering projects.

In this role, you’ll provide essential technical expertise, coordinate engineering activities, and ensure project requirements are met safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

You’ll take ownership of engineering documentation, support design development, collaborate with clients and suppliers, and work closely with installation and site teams to keep projects moving smoothly from planning through to commissioning and handover.

This is a multidisciplinary role that will suit a Project Engineer with a strong technical background who is comfortable working across mechanical, electrical and civil engineering interfaces within the water and wastewater sector.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting the successful delivery of MEICA projects across the water and wastewater sector.
• Providing technical engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinating engineering activities across design, construction, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Taking ownership of project engineering documentation and ensuring information is kept accurate and up to date.
• Supporting design development and coordinating design information with the wider project team.
• Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Coordinating mechanical, electrical and civil engineering interfaces.
• Working closely with installation and site teams to resolve technical issues and maintain project progress.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Supporting procurement and ensuring equipment and materials meet project requirements.
• Supporting water and wastewater treatment, pumping systems and pipeline projects.
• Identifying technical issues and helping develop practical engineering solutions.
• Supporting project planning, risk management and change control.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with relevant client standards and WIMES requirements.
• Supporting commissioning activities and ensuring all required documentation is completed.
• Assisting with project handover, including technical documentation and O&M information.
• Attending site, design, progress and client meetings.
• Supporting health, safety, quality and environmental requirements throughout the project.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• Minimum 2 years' experience within the water industry.
• Previous experience working on water and/or wastewater projects.
• Technical understanding of mechanical, electrical and/or civil engineering systems.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, pumping systems and pipelines.
• Understanding of WIMES and client engineering standards.
• Experience across construction, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Strong coordination skills across design, construction and commissioning.
• Understanding of project planning, risk management and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
• Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary project team.
• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and project documentation systems.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
