£13.69 per hour (PAYE)

37 hours per week on a Monday to Sunday rota (7.30am-3.30pm, 10am-6pm or 3pm-11pm)

Starting Monday 19 October 2026

Hatched Recruitment Group is recruiting a Porter to join Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council's Facilities Management team at Lagan Valley Island. You'll help keep this busy civic and events venue running smoothly, from weddings and conferences to theatre shows and meetings.

What you'll be doing:

• Helping run the mail room, including preparing, delivering and collecting post and goods across departments
• Setting up and changing over rooms for events, including theatre shows, weddings, conferences, banquets and exhibitions
• Putting up, taking down and storing equipment in line with manual handling procedures
• Setting up audio-visual equipment and operating lighting and PA for weddings and events
• Opening and closing the building, key holding and providing security cover
• Checking deliveries, carrying out general cleaning and helping with maintenance
• Covering reception, the switchboard, computerised bookings and cash handling
• Supervising public use of the facility and dealing with customer queries

What you'll need:

• At least 1 year's experience in a similar post, with experience in at least four of the following:
• mail room
• putting up, taking down and storing equipment
• reception
• security
• cleaning
• maintenance work
• Flexibility to work early, middle and late shifts on a Monday to Sunday rota, including weekends
• Strong customer care skills

Two or more years' experience in a similar post and knowledge of electronic mailing systems are desirable.
