Production Engineer
Location: Salfords, near Gatwick (Redhill area)
Salary: From £45,000 per annum (DOE) – higher salaries available for candidates with the right skills and experience
Hours: Choose from either:
- Monday to Thursday, 6:00am – 6:00pm, or
- Monday to Thursday, 8:00am – 5:00pm & Friday, 8:00am – 12:00pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Engineer to join a highly successful precision engineering manufacturer supplying complex, high-accuracy components to the medical device industry.
This role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of engineering projects, taking products from concept through to production while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
The Role
As a Production Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and improving machining processes, programming CNC equipment, supporting production, and implementing engineering solutions that improve efficiency and quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Programming CNC machines using CAM software such as HyperMill, Fusion 360, SolidCAM or similar
- Setting, proving out and troubleshooting CNC machining processes
- Programming and operating automated metrology equipment
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation
- Developing machining processes capable of extended unmanned running
- Supporting production with technical expertise and engineering solutions
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Maintaining engineering documentation and records
- Working closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams
- Ensuring all work complies with company quality procedures
About You
We're looking for someone with:
- A Production or Manufacturing Engineering background
- Experience programming, setting and proving CNC machinery
- Strong understanding of precision machining and metal cutting processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using CAM software such as HyperMill, Fusion 360, SolidCAM or similar (desirable)
- Knowledge of metrology or automated inspection equipment would be beneficial
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
- An Engineering degree, HNC/HND or a recognised engineering apprenticeship
