To manage the Co-Pack operation for IPS at our CML chilled site in Telford. The Production Manager will meet planned volume and commercial targets in accordance with Quality and Safety standards. You will be a role model for best practice at all times and through innovation deliver cost savings and provide support to the site.

This is a full time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 06.00-14.00

Key Duties of a Production Manager:

• Become an ambassador for all Co-pack activities and liaise with customers and clients.
• Create a sustainable method of communication that links at all levels within the business.
• Liaise with all group functions to resolve operational day to day issues and plan to prevent re-occurrence.
• Work with finance dept. to identify areas of spend, reviews and budget compliance/setting.
• To adhere to and promote best practice in accordance with company Health, Safety and Quality regulations
• Provide a service based on Reliability, Quality and Repeatability, which is both measurable and auditable.
• To ensure that all areas comply with hygiene audits, both internal and external.
• To ensure all paperwork and systems are completed and accurate in accordance with company procedures
• To ensure GMP (good manufacturing practices) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to
• Develop a highly focused and efficient operation at site.
• Challenge the ways of working and deliver through innovation cost savings. Monitor, control and minimise waste. To act as specialist for machinery knowledge
• Ensure best practise is developed and used, constantly seeking improvements to layout, efficiency and stock integrity.
• Manage the output of assigned production and effectively deal with issues as and when they arise.
• Co-ordinate short & long term labour and equipment plans.
• Reviewing staffing levels by function, rotating staff accordingly in line with volumes.
• Monitor and manage team performance against KPI's.
• To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post.
• To effectively motivate a team of people to meet production targets
• Identify and mentor the FLM's and Key Players of the future. Create strength in depth through the development of the teams. Develop staff by training, mentoring and personal development plans.
• To participate in the company’s PDP program
• Drive own personal development through training and work based experience To conduct disciplinary investigations in accordance with company procedure

• Experience of working within a production environment.
• Experience of working with  packaging machinery.
• Experience of managing a team.
• Experience of customer, BRC and ISO audits.
• Preferably food or packing experience is desirable.
• Experience of working in warehousing operation is desirable.
• Recognises and promotes the importance of continuous improvement.
• Level 3 Health & Safety qualification.
• Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
