Overview
EMBS Talent is recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to lead a busy CNC machining and finishing operation. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who understands metal manufacturing and machine shop operations, and who enjoys being on the shop floor identifying problems and driving practical improvements.
The successful candidate will oversee two Team Leaders, who rotate on a Double Day shift pattern. Each Team Leader manages around 20 direct reports across finishing and machining, including three Supervisors. The business is performing exceptionally well, having surpassed last year's results, and continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the production line, overseeing two Team Leaders, three Supervisors under each, and their wider teams across finishing and machining.
- Take a hands-on, visible approach on the shop floor to identify pain points, bottlenecks and areas of concern, and put practical improvements in place.
- Coach, mentor and develop Team Leaders and Supervisors to build a strong and capable leadership team.
- Drive continuous improvement (CI/Lean) activity to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) performance.
- Ensure customer requirements for quality, delivery and cost are consistently met through effective planning and scheduling.
- Support the introduction of new products and technologies into the production line, working closely with project teams.
- Manage resourcing, tooling, equipment and capacity planning to meet production demand.
- Set clear goals and performance expectations for the team, carrying out regular reviews and supporting ongoing talent development.
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Production Manager, or in a similar role, within a CNC machining or metal manufacturing environment.
- A solid understanding of CNC machining and machine shop operations.
- Experience managing large teams through a structure of Team Leaders and Supervisors.
- A hands-on, visible leadership style, with the ability to spot issues on the shop floor and drive practical solutions.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement or Lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Strong people management, coaching and communication skills.
