Project Manager - Specialist HVAC & Cleanroom Solutions
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of specialist HVAC, cleanroom, and turnkey refurbishment projects within the healthcare, life sciences, and research sectors.
Projects typically range from £100k to £5m and include operating theatres, containment laboratories, cleanrooms, and other critical environments. The role involves managing projects from initial planning through to completion, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, and regulatory standards.
This is a hybrid role with UK-wide project responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical and specialist ventilation projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Technical Compliance
- Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare and building regulations, including HTM standards and specialist ventilation requirements.
- Coordinate technical reviews, commissioning activities, and validation processes.
Site & Supply Chain Coordination
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to maintain programme and quality objectives.
- Monitor project progress and resolve technical or operational issues efficiently.
Procurement & Commercial Management
- Support procurement activities for specialist equipment and subcontract packages.
- Monitor project costs, variations, and financial performance.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, estates teams, and end users.
- Attend project meetings and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years' project management experience within a specialist contractor, HVAC, mechanical, or design-and-build environment.
- Experience delivering healthcare, laboratory, pharmaceutical, or cleanroom projects is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of specialist HVAC systems, ventilation standards, and critical environment requirements.
- Familiarity with HTM guidelines and healthcare construction standards is advantageous.

- Commercial awareness and budget management capability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
