Job Description:

I'm working with a leading Tier 1 main contractor on a permanent Project Quantity Surveyor opportunity in Scarborough.

The business has a strong pipeline of complex construction projects across Yorkshire, with a particular focus on healthcare and public-sector schemes.

This is a position offering genuine commercial ownership, alongside the opportunity to develop your career within a business that has a strong track record of investing in and progressing its people.

The role

You'll be responsible for:

- Managing the commercial performance of live construction projects
- Subcontract procurement and tendering
- Cost control, forecasting and CVR reporting
- Valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Managing variations, change and commercial risk
- Subcontract and main contract administration
- Working closely with the project delivery team to maximise commercial performance

What we are looking for
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Project Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management
- Experience managing procurement, subcontractors, valuations and final accounts
- Ideally, experience across healthcare, hospitals or other complex public-sector projects
- Education, BTR/residential, prisons or similar building-sector experience will also be considered
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- No infrastructure/civils background
- Housebuilding-only experience will not be suitable
- Full UK driving licence
