Job Description:

Are you an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to take the reins on your own schemes? Or an established QS looking for a stable, long-term highways framework?

We are recruiting on behalf of a civil engineering contractor to find commercial talent for their expanding Highways Maintenance division. This role is perfectly suited for a driven Assistant QS who is eager to step up to a Quantity Surveyor role or an established QS looking for stability.

The Role

You will manage commercial resources for a variety of highways maintenance schemes (including resurfacing, structural repairs, and routine maintenance).

• Contract Management: Administering NEC3/NEC4 (Option C/A) contracts.
• Subcontractor Management: Procurement, setting up orders, monthly valuations, and final accounts.
• Financial Reporting: Managing CVRs, forecasting, and identifying commercial risks or opportunities.
• Change Management: Identifying, pricing, and negotiating variations and compensation events.

We are looking for a commercially sharp individual with a "can-do" attitude. You don’t need to be a finished product, but you must have the foundations.

• Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of commercial experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, or highways.
• Contract Knowledge: Working knowledge of the NEC form of contract is essential.
• Qualification: HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (preferred but not essential if qualified by experience).
