We are currently recruiting Secondary Teaching Assistants to work across a range of secondary schools in Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding areas.

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and school staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting students with classroom learning and day-to-day school activities.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group interventions to support learning and progress.
• Assisting with literacy, numeracy and subject-specific learning activities.
• Supporting students with additional learning needs where required.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, participation and engagement in lessons.
• Helping teachers prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
• Supporting students' confidence, independence and personal development.
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Assisting with classroom management and maintaining a productive learning environment.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and school leadership.
• Supporting students during lessons, breaktimes and extracurricular activities where required.
• Promoting student wellbeing and safeguarding at all times.

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or in a similar educational role.
• A minimum of 6 months' relevant UK experience is desirable.
• Experience supporting secondary-aged students is advantageous.
• A patient, positive and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to follow teacher guidance effectively.
• A flexible and proactive attitude towards supporting learning.
• Confidence working across a range of subjects and age groups.
• A genuine passion for education and helping young people achieve their full potential.
