SEN Teaching Assistant – Aberdare

Based in Aberdare, the SEN Teaching Assistant position involves working closely with children who have diverse needs, helping them to reach their full potential. The role is full-time and long-term, providing a rewarding environment to develop your skills and experience in special education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing general classroom support to enhance learning experiences for all pupils
• Collaborating with the Class Teacher to develop engaging, inclusive lesson plans
• Supporting children with very complex learning difficulties, tailoring approaches to meet individual needs
• Assisting with behavioural and emotional support strategies
• Fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
• Promoting positive relationships with children, staff, and parents

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with complex learning needs or challenging behaviours
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptability and patience in a dynamic classroom setting
• Relevant qualifications in education, SEND, or childcare are desirable
• Enthusiasm for supporting children’s development and inclusion
