The Opportunity

Walker & Sloan is recruiting a Senior Project Manager to join a main contractor on a project in Slough.

You’ll take the lead on construction delivery, bringing together site teams, specialist subcontractors and consultants to keep the project progressing safely and efficiently. This would suit you if you’re an experienced Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership and providing clear direction on complex building projects.

Role Overview

You’ll oversee delivery from planning and mobilisation through to completion and handover, maintaining control of programme, quality and site performance.

Working with your project team, you’ll establish construction sequences, coordinate resources and monitor progress against key milestones. You’ll identify risks early, challenge delays and agree practical recovery measures where needed.

You’ll work closely with design and commercial colleagues to ensure information, procurement and subcontract packages support the construction programme. You’ll also assess the delivery implications of changes, keeping the client and wider team informed.

As a senior point of contact, you’ll lead project meetings, manage client expectations and provide clear reporting on progress and outstanding decisions. You’ll support and develop your site team while maintaining accountability for health and safety, quality inspections and handover readiness.

About You

You’ll have a track record of leading building projects for a main contractor, either as a Senior Project Manager or an experienced Project Manager ready for your next step.

You’ll understand how to manage complex programmes, coordinate specialist subcontractors and bring design, commercial and construction priorities together. Experience in industrial, logistics, commercial or data centre construction would be relevant.

You’ll be confident leading teams and managing client relationships, with the judgement to resolve problems and escalate issues when necessary. Strong commercial awareness and a thorough understanding of construction sequencing will be essential.
