SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Central Birmingham

£60,000 – £75,000 + package

A well-established specialist subcontractor is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Central Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who has a strong subcontracting background and is looking for a senior commercial role within a successful and growing specialist contractor.

The Role

Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing projects commercially from contract award through to completion

Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment and final accounts

Managing variations, change control and contractual notices

Cost reporting, forecasting and cash-flow management

Subcontractor procurement and management

Reviewing and agreeing subcontractor accounts

Commercial reporting to senior management

Identifying commercial risks and opportunities

Working closely with site and project teams to ensure projects remain commercially controlled

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, main contractors and supply chain partners

The Person

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Strong experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a specialist subcontractor environment

A proven track record of managing projects commercially

Good knowledge of subcontractor and main contractor forms of contract

Strong commercial and contractual awareness

Excellent negotiation and communication skills

The ability to work independently and take ownership of projects

A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is preferred

This is a senior position, so candidates should be confident managing their own projects and dealing directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
