Senior Security System Installation Engineer

Location: Office / Site based (Greater London including in and around M25)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per year
Contracted hours: 40 Hours per week plus paid overtime

We are recruiting for a Senior Security System Installation Engineer to work with their existing team.

Requirements for the Senior Security System Installation Engineer role:

• ECS/CSCS card or equivalent (desirable).
• Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. NVQ, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience).
• Good understanding of industry standards (e.g. NSI/SSAIB compliance).

Role Overview

The Senior Security Systems Installation Engineer is responsible for the successful delivery of security system projects, including the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, and fault resolution of CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Detection Systems, and associated integrated technologies. The role requires a highly skilled and experienced engineer who can lead by example, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.

In addition to hands-on engineering responsibilities, the role includes leadership, supervisory, and mentoring duties, supporting the development of junior engineers while maintaining high levels of quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The post holder will act as a senior technical authority within the business, providing guidance on complex installations, system design considerations, fault diagnosis, and operational best practice.

The Senior Security Systems Installation Engineer will play a key role in supporting business growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. The role requires strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects, customer relationships, and engineering activities simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead junior engineers, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
• Mentor team members through coaching, technical guidance, and best practices.
• Drive progression against training plans and competency requirements.
• Develop engineer performance through regular feedback, support, and accountability.
• Foster a high-performing team culture focused on quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Installation, Service & Maintenance

• Deliver the installation, servicing, and maintenance of CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems, ensuring projects are completed on time and to specification.
• Ensure all works comply with company procedures, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve complex system faults, minimising downtime and maximising system performance.
• Commission and configure security systems, achieving successful testing, client approval, and handover.
• Maintain accurate service and installation records to support compliance and operational efficiency.

Project Coordination & Communication

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to client requirements.
• Maintain and manage accurate project, service, and asset records, achieving timely updates and complete data integrity within company management systems.
• Administer and oversee URN registrations and amendments, ensuring 100% compliance with monitoring station and police response requirements.
• Act as the primary client and stakeholder liaison, delivering clear communication and high levels of customer satisfaction throughout project delivery.

Operational & Account Coordination

• Drive coordination activities for key accounts and system integrations, supporting successful project execution and service continuity.
• Oversee the communication and onboarding of newly commissioned accounts, ensuring accurate costing, billing, and operational tracking.
• Facilitate the seamless transition of completed projects into service, maintenance, and monitoring contracts, minimising handover delays and service disruption.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in installation and servicing of CCTV, access control, and intruder detection systems.
• Strong working knowledge of Avigilon, Paxton, and Ajax systems. * Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience within an engineering environment.
• Experience in audit and validation certifications, RAMS, and compliance documentation, ensuring all records remain current and audit ready.
• Thorough understanding of monitored alarm systems, ARC procedures, and Police URN management, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and police response requirements.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
