£37,000–£42,000 + Overtime + On-Call Payments | Company Van & Fuel Card

About the Role – Service Engineer

• As a Service Engineer, you will be based primarily in the workshop, carrying out servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repairs on generators, pumps and diesel engines.
• The role also includes occasional attendance at customer breakdowns, giving you a varied split between workshop-based engineering and mobile service work.
• You will diagnose faults, complete preventative maintenance, carry out repairs and ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard. You will also participate in a 1-in-4 on-call rota, with additional payment for on-call work.

About You

We are looking for an experienced service engineer with a background in generators, pumps, diesel engines, plant, mechanical engineering or a closely related field.

You should have:

• Relevant engineering experience
• Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills
• Experience working with diesel engines, generators or pumps
• A full driving licence
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A flexible approach to occasional customer breakdown work and on-call duties

To be successful in this role, you may have worked as a:  

Generator Engineer, Generator Technician, Diesel Engine Engineer, Mechanical Service Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Plant Engineer, Pump Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Mobile Engineer, Workshop Engineer.
