Site Engineer – Gatwick Airport
Location: Gatwick Airport
Duration: 4 months
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £400–£450 per day
IR35: Inside IR35
Engagement: PAYE or PAYE Umbrella
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Site Engineer to work on the Pier 3 Bridge Project at Gatwick Airport.
The Role
The Site Engineer will be responsible for supporting the delivery of works and managing subcontractor packages across a complex airport infrastructure project.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing subcontractor packages, including:
- Bridge jacking and bearing replacement
- Grit blasting and repainting
- Major temporary works, including scaffolding
- Internal and external building alterations
- Permit management and ensuring works are carried out safely and in accordance with site requirements
- Stakeholder management and coordination
- Managing interfaces between different disciplines and suppliers
- Coordinating with electrical and plumbing contractors
- Supporting the successful delivery of works to programme and required standards
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on construction or infrastructure projects
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work packages
- Strong permit and stakeholder management experience
- Experience working across multiple disciplines and managing interfaces
- Gatwick Airport or previous airport experience is highly desirable
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a busy and highly regulated environment
Airport Security Requirements
You will need to:
- Complete a DBS check
- Provide a minimum 5-year checkable employment history
- Successfully complete the required Airside Pass process
