Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the mechanical and electrical delivery of specialised data centre water treatment projects across Europe. You will oversee the installation and commissioning of water treatment plant, control systems, and associated infrastructure using both internal resources and specialist subcontractors. This position is initially based at our head office in Mallow, Co. Cork, with extensive travel to project sites in Finland and mainland Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Site Delivery & Commissioning: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of specialist water treatment plants, pipework, instrumentation, control panels, and automation systems.
Subcontractor & Resource Management: Supervise mechanical and electrical subcontractors and internal engineering resources to ensure works align with project programmes, safety standards, and technical specifications.
Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a key site contact, liaising effectively with client representatives, project managers, and external partners to maintain project timelines and positive working relationships.
Health, Safety & Quality (HSQE): Lead all site HSQE requirements. Prepare RAMS, conduct site inductions, deliver toolbox talks, implement Safe Plans of Action, and enforce safety protocols across all activities.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate installation and testing records, compile monthly progress reports, review the delivery programme, and update the Project Manager on key developments or issues.
Risk Management & Problem Solving: Proactively identify project risks or technical challenges on site and execute effective mitigation strategies to prevent delays.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide the site mechanical and electrical teams, driving a collaborative and high-performing working culture.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in site management or supervision within mechanical, electrical, or process water engineering environments.
Technical Background: Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Process Water Engineering.
Sector Knowledge: Experience within the data centre industry is highly advantageous.
Technical Aptitude: Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, including General Arrangement drawings, P&IDs, and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
Core Skills: Strong engineering analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency with ERP software and Microsoft Office tools.
Licence & Travel: Full driving licence and full willingness to travel extensively throughout Europe.
