We're working with a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business in Dorset that is continuing to invest heavily in both its people and production capability. As part of that growth, they're looking to bring in an experienced Technical Services Engineer to join their engineering team.

The Role as Technical Services Engineer

This is a hands-on engineering position focused on maintaining and improving a wide range of manufacturing machinery and site services.

You'll be involved in everything from reactive breakdown support through to planned preventative maintenance, installations, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement projects across the facility.

The position combines both electrical and mechanical engineering, so we're looking for someone confident working across fault-finding, diagnostics, and repair work on production equipment.

Typical responsibilities as Technical Services Engineer will include:

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across manufacturing equipment
• Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and control system faults
• Supporting CNC and PLC-controlled machinery
• Improving machine reliability and reducing downtime
• Assisting with machinery installation and commissioning work
• Maintaining factory services and supporting general site infrastructure
• Working closely with production teams to minimise disruption
• Contributing towards continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensuring all engineering work is completed safely and in line with current regulations

What Our Client Are Looking For As Technical Services Engineer

We're keen to speak with engineers who have experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment and who enjoy being part of a proactive engineering function.

You'll ideally have:

• A strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance
• Experience fault-finding on production machinery
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems
• Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics and industrial controls
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to engineering problems
• Previous exposure to CNC machinery (highly desirable)
• Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC/HND or equivalent preferred)
