Technical Sales Engineer – Renewable Energy

Are you a technically minded professional with experience across renewables, HVAC, heating, M&E or building services who is looking to take the next step into a commercial sales role?

We’re working with an established and growing renewable energy business delivering high-quality projects across London and the South East. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join their team.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who understands the technical side of renewable energy and enjoys building relationships, advising customers and turning enquiries into successful projects.

Responsibilities: 

You’ll manage the sales process from initial enquiry through to contract, working with a varied customer base including homeowners, architects, developers, consultants and main contractors.

• Manage incoming enquiries and convert opportunities into sales

• Develop relationships with architects, developers, consultants and contractors

• Carry out site surveys and assess project requirements

• Prepare estimates, technical specifications and customer proposals

• Recommend appropriate renewable energy solutions based on customer requirements

• Present technically strong proposals and guide customers through the process

• Work closely with design and installation teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully

• Maintain regular follow-up with prospective customers and manage the sales pipeline

• Identify opportunities to develop repeat business and long-term client relationships

Requirements:

• Renewable energy sales

• Technical sales / pre-sales

• Renewable system design

• HVAC / heating engineering

• M&E consultancy

• Building services

• A similar technical or engineering environment

You should ideally have knowledge or experience across several of the following:

• Air Source & Ground Source Heat Pumps

• Solar PV

• Battery Storage

• MVHR / ventilation systems

• Air conditioning / cooling systems

• Renewable energy system design or specification

You’ll need to be confident discussing technical solutions with architects, consultants, developers and other industry professionals, while also having the commercial awareness to identify and close opportunities.

The successful candidate will be someone who can build genuine trust with customers through their technical knowledge, enthusiasm and ability to recommend the right solution.

You'll need to be commercially driven, organised and proactive, with the ability to respond quickly to enquiries, follow opportunities through and ultimately secure the business.

• £45,000 – £50,000 basic salary, depending on experience
