Job Description:

We are working with a small but rapidly growing fabrication business based in Tamworth who are looking to recruit an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join their expanding team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background and a passion for developing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities and delivering technical solutions.

The successful candidate will combine their engineering knowledge with commercial awareness, acting as a key link between customers and the internal engineering and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to support the company's continued growth.

• Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate technical solutions.

• Prepare and present technical quotations, proposals and tenders.

• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.

• Work closely with internal engineering and fabrication teams to ensure customer expectations are met.

• Provide technical advice and product knowledge throughout the sales process.

• Follow up on enquiries and quotations to maximise sales opportunities.

• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for business development.

• Support the delivery of projects from initial enquiry through to completion.

About You

• Previous experience in a technical sales, sales engineering or similar engineering-focused role.

• A recognised engineering qualification or relevant technical engineering background.

• Strong understanding of engineering principles and fabrication processes.

• Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.

• Confident communicating with customers and building long-term relationships.

• Commercially aware with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities.

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

• Self-motivated, driven and comfortable working within a growing business.
