Interim Management Accountant – Scunthorpe - £38,787

Are you an experienced Management Accountant available at short notice and looking for your next interim opportunity?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, purpose-led organisation that delivers services across the region through a group of specialist commercial businesses who are seeking a confident Management Accountant to join their team on a minimum 2 month basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance team where you'll play a key role in supporting commercial operations and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting.

The Role:
 

• Working closely with the Commercial Accountant, you'll take responsibility for producing monthly management accounts across multiple trading entities, providing financial insight and supporting business performance. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and partnering with operational teams.
• Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash movement reporting
• Producing journals including payroll, accruals, prepayments, stock, work in progress and provisions
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls
• Producing project and contract profitability reporting
• Supporting monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes
• Analysing financial data to provide meaningful commercial insight
• Working closely with operational teams to ensure accurate allocation of income and costs
• Supporting year-end processes and responding to audit requests
• Assisting with process improvements and finance system enhancements
• Supporting wider finance activities, including statutory payments, intercompany reconciliations and debtor management where required

About You:
 

• Experience producing full monthly management accounts
• Strong knowledge of journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to manage multiple deadlines in a busy environment
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to build relationships across finance and operational teams
• Good systems knowledge and strong Excel skills
