Job Description

REC Source is recruiting Production Operatives / Production Line Workers / Warehouse Operative for our client's food production facility in Meldreth, Royston, Hertfordshire.

We are looking for reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative (s) who can work efficiently in a busy food production environment and maintain high standards of food hygiene, product quality and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

-  Carry out daily production line duties to meet production targets and requirements.

- Pack, unpack, label and prepare products for storage or distribution.

- Operate meat band saw machinery where required, following appropriate training, authorisation and safety procedures.

- Maintain stock levels and ensure products are handled and stored correctly.

- Check products and packaging for quality, accuracy and visible defects.

- Load, unload and move stock safely, including items weighing up to 20kg.

- Carry out daily cleaning and wash-down procedures for machinery, equipment and work areas.

- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and workplace safety.

- Follow company procedures relating to food safety, quality control, manual handling and health and safety.

- Wear the required uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Report equipment faults, damaged products, stock discrepancies and potential hazards to management.

- Work effectively with colleagues and supervisors to meet daily production requirements.

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a food production or manufacturing environment is desirable.
• Previous meat band saw operating experience is desirable.
• Ability to carry out practical production duties and follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to lift and handle items weighing up to 20kg throughout the working day.
• Good understanding of, or willingness to follow, food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
• Willingness to carry out regular cleaning and wash-down duties.
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a busy production environment.
• Willingness to wear the required uniform and PPE.
• Must follow all machinery safety procedures; appropriate training and authorisation are required before operating machinery.

Pay Rates for this Warehouse Opeartive position

• Monday to Friday: £13 per hour
• Saturday: £15.00 per hour
• Bank Holidays: £15.00 per hour

Shift details

• Shift Times: 07:00 – 18:00
• Break: 30 minutes
• Minimum Shift Length: 9 hours
• Working Days: Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays
