Warehouse Team Leader – Night Shift
Location: Watford
Salary: £35,000
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7.00pm – 4.00am
CTR Select is recruiting for an experienced Night Shift Warehouse Team Leader to lead and coordinate a busy warehouse operation within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the night shift warehouse team, ensuring operational targets, productivity, quality and service levels are achieved while maintaining compliance with MHRA, GDP and Health & Safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and manage warehouse employees to achieve operational targets and KPIs.
- Allocate workloads, manage resources and prioritise activities to meet dispatch deadlines and customer requirements.
- Oversee picking, packing, assembly, replenishment and dispatch activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor team performance, productivity, attendance and quality standards, providing coaching and support where required.
- Conduct team briefings, shift handovers, performance reviews and employee investigations.
- Support recruitment, induction, onboarding, training and ongoing employee development.
- Ensure warehouse activities comply with MHRA regulations, GDP, company procedures and Health & Safety standards.
- Maintain accurate stock movements and Warehouse Management System (WMS) transactions.
- Monitor stock discrepancies and resolve operational issues, escalating where necessary.
- Work closely with internal departments to support smooth warehouse operations and delivery schedules.
- Monitor equipment and warehouse automation performance, including KNAPP systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, service levels and operational processes.
About You
We are looking for a confident and proactive team leader with:
- Previous experience leading or supervising teams within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
- Strong leadership, communication and people management skills.
- Good knowledge of warehouse operations and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Understanding of MHRA regulations, GDP and Health & Safety requirements.
- Experience working towards operational KPIs and performance targets.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
- A flexible, hands-on approach with a strong focus on accuracy, quality and compliance.
Experience with warehouse automation systems such as KNAPP, or Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies, would be advantageous.
