Account Manager – IT Solutions

£35,000 – £45,000

We are working with a growing and highly technical IT solutions and managed services business that is looking for an ambitious Account Manager to join its Glasgow team.

The business works with organisations across a range of sectors, delivering solutions spanning managed IT services, data centre transformation, networking and security, workforce transformation, data protection and cyber recovery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Account Manager who enjoys building strong customer relationships, identifying opportunities and working closely with technical teams to deliver the right solutions.

The Role

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of customers while identifying opportunities to increase revenue and strengthen long-term relationships.

You will act as a trusted point of contact for your customers, understanding their business challenges and working with internal technical specialists to recommend appropriate IT solutions and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop existing customer accounts
• Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers
• Identify opportunities for account growth, upselling and cross-selling
• Understand customers' business and technology requirements
• Generate new opportunities within existing accounts
• Work closely with technical and professional services teams to develop solutions
• Prepare and deliver commercial proposals and presentations
• Manage the sales process from initial opportunity through to close
• Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts
• Meet and exceed agreed revenue and margin targets
• Keep up to date with developments across the IT infrastructure, cloud, networking and cybersecurity landscape

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially driven, confident speaking with customers and genuinely interested in technology.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in an Account Management or similar sales role
• Experience within IT, technology, managed services, infrastructure or a related sector
• A proven track record of developing and retaining customer accounts
• Experience identifying and closing additional sales opportunities
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A consultative approach to selling
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with technical teams
• A motivated, target-driven and proactive approach
