My client, based in Fleet, is looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident sales professional to build strong relationships, generate new business and play a key role in driving growth across their intermediary network.
You will be responsible for promoting products and providing expert guidance on lending criteria, underwriting and technical solutions to intermediary partners. You’ll take ownership of developing and strengthening broker relationships, becoming a trusted first point of contact for future new business opportunities.
Working closely with partnered field Business Development Managers, you’ll identify opportunities, maximise sales potential and deliver a proactive, relationship-led approach that helps drive business performance.
Duties
Develop and execute a proactive telephone contact strategy across a regional panel of brokers, building strong and lasting relationships while gaining a genuine understanding of their businesses and requirements.
Proactively identify and maximise new business opportunities across both new and existing intermediary relationships.
Build a strong network of intermediary contacts and become a trusted, knowledgeable point of contact for future business.
Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets by developing relationships and identifying opportunities within the company’s current lending appetite.
Use the CRM system effectively to manage relationships, record activity and maintain accurate and up-to-date information across your broker portfolio.
Provide expert and commercially focused guidance to intermediaries on products, lending criteria and underwriting requirements.
Provide technical support to intermediaries, helping to resolve portal and system issues quickly and efficiently.
Work closely with field-based Business Development Managers and internal teams to maximise every sales opportunity and deliver a seamless intermediary experience.
Take ownership of your product, lending and market knowledge, ensuring you are always able to provide accurate, confident and value-adding information.
Keep up to date with competitor products, market developments and industry trends to identify opportunities and strengthen your commercial conversations.
Work collaboratively across the wider business to deliver excellent service, achieve sales objectives and maximise business performance.
Operate in a fully compliant manner, ensuring all activity is conducted in line with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Support colleagues across Sales and the wider business to achieve team targets, maintain service standards and deliver outstanding results.
Skills and Experience
Proven sales experience within a target-driven telephone or face-to-face sales environment is essential.
Previous experience within Mortgage, Lending or Financial Services is highly desirable.
A strong commercial mindset with a genuine passion for building relationships, generating opportunities and winning new business.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence professional intermediaries.
A natural ability to build rapport, understand customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.
Highly motivated, enthusiastic and driven to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Flexible, proactive and keen to develop your knowledge and build a successful career within Financial Services.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple relationships and opportunities effectively.
PC literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Experience using CRM systems would be advantageous.
CeMAP would be an advantage, but is not essential.
