Job Description:

Thorn Baker are working with an established and growing construction business that are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen its commercial team and support a portfolio of refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance, roofing and selected new-build projects valued up to £10m. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account. Key duties will include:

• Procurement and subcontractor management
• Valuations and cost/value reporting
• Forecasting and cost control
• Change management and contractual notices
• Risk and opportunity management
• Client reporting and stakeholder engagement
• Final accounts and project close-out
• Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff where required

We are interested in speaking with:

• Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors from regional or national main contractors
• Project Quantity Surveyors ready to step into a senior position
• Commercial professionals with experience in refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance, roofing or new-build projects
• Candidates with strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
• Professionals experienced in frameworks, negotiated work and two-stage procurement

A Quantity Surveying or Construction-related qualification would be advantageous, although substantial relevant experience will be considered equally. Chartered status or working towards RICS/CIOB accreditation is welcomed. [Job Role I...tober 2026 | PDF]
