Technical Business Development Executive

Location: Near Woking, Surrey
Salary: £26,000–£32,000 + £5,000–£8,000 OTE (Up to £40,000 package)
Hours: 36 hours per week

Syntech Recruitment are recruiting for a Technical Business Development Executive to join a well-established engineering and technology business near Woking.

This is not a traditional high-volume telesales role. You'll use market intelligence, CRM data and targeted research to identify new business opportunities across the UK & Ireland, engaging with engineering and manufacturing decision-makers and securing product demonstrations for the field sales team.

The business is implementing Salesforce and developing a more intelligent, data-led approach to winning new customers. You'll play a key role in identifying target markets, companies and contacts and turning that research into genuine sales opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify new customers across UK & Ireland engineering and manufacturing markets
• Use market intelligence, Salesforce and external data to identify target companies and decision-makers
• Conduct targeted outbound prospecting via telephone, email and professional networks
• Engage with engineering, manufacturing, quality and technical professionals
• Understand customer challenges and identify potential product applications
• Generate qualified appointments and technical product demonstrations for the field sales team
• Identify further opportunities within existing key accounts
• Support targeted campaigns for new products and markets
• Maintain accurate prospect and opportunity information within Salesforce
• Collaborate with field sales and international Business Development colleagues

Requirements

• Previous B2B sales, business development, sales development or technical sales experience
• Engineering, manufacturing or technical industry experience is highly advantageous
• Strong outbound prospecting and new business skills
• Comfortable researching companies and identifying commercial opportunities
• Confident communicating with engineering and technical decision-makers
• Able to understand and discuss technical products and applications
• Comfortable using CRM systems and sales data
• Proactive, resilient and commercially minded
• Able to commute daily to the Woking area
